How do I remove Custom Portfolio from my Acorns account?

If you want to close your Custom Portfolio account, see the quick steps below.

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap/Click on ‘My Subscription’
  3. Scroll down to Your accounts
  4. Tap/Click on ‘Invest (Custom)’ 
  5. Tap/Click on ‘Close account’

This will only close the Custom Portfolio account and keep your Invest Base managed account. 

By closing your Custom Portfolio account any stocks within that account will be sold. Once the stocks are sold, the funds will be sent to your linked primary checking account within 3-6 business days and your Base account will remain in the $9/month tier. You can reach out to an advocate if you need additional assistance closing your Custom Portfolio account. 

You can also choose to downgrade by going to My Subscriptions, then scrolling down to Change Tier. By downgrading to a lower tier, your Custom Portfolio account will be closed and any stocks within that account will be sold. See the full steps below. 

For Mobile:

  1. After logging in to your account, tap the menu in the upper left corner.
  2. Tap 'Settings'
  3. Tap 'My Subscription'
  4. Scroll down to ‘Manage’
  5. Tap 'Change tier'
  6. Choose the subscription tier and tap 'Switch to this plan' under the applicable tier

For Web:

  1. After logging in to your account, click on the menu in the upper right corner.
  2. Click on 'Profile & Settings'
  3. Click on 'My Subscription'
  4. Scroll down to ‘Manage’
  5. Click on 'Change tier'
  6. Choose the subscription tier, and click on 'Switch to this plan' under the applicable tier

By downgrading to a lower tier, you will lose access to products and features. Please be sure to review each tier before making a change.
