Adding/buying and removing/selling stocks in your Custom Portfolio is NOT instant. Acorns trades in what is called “omnibus trading”. Omnibus trading means we aggregate all of our customers’ requests into a single large order, and during our designated Trade Windows, we make aggregated purchases and sales to satisfy our clients’ instructions.
If you remove a stock from your portfolio, we’ll sell it on your behalf. Once the stocks are sold, the funds will be sent to your linked bank account within 3-5 business days.
If you add a stock to your portfolio, we will buy that stock on your behalf following your next investment. Remember, only new one-time investments, Round-Ups®, or Recurring Investments will be used to purchase new or increased stocks you add to your Custom Portfolio.
