Making deposits into your Emergency Fund account
It's easy to deposit funds into your Emergency Fund — you can make one-time deposits whenever you want, or you can make it a regular part of your budget and make a deposit every time you get paid with our Paycheck split feature.
Here's how to automatically deposit part of your paycheck into your Emergency Fund:
- Log in to your account from your Acorns app or acorns.com
- From your home screen, tap or click "Checking"
- Tap "Direct deposit" to edit your Paycheck split settings. You can choose how much of each paycheck you want to go to your Emergency Fund here.
- Once you've saved those settings, Paycheck split will automatically use them the next time you're paid
- Click on "Paycheck split" and complete the steps to begin automatically saving a portion of each paycheck
Here's how to make a One-Time deposit from your Acorns Checking account:
- Log in to your account from your Acorns app or acorns.com
- From your home screen, tap or click "Emergency Fund"
- Tap or click "One-Time," and follow the prompts to make a transfer from your Acorns Checking account to your Emergency Fund account
Withdrawing from your Emergency Fund account
When you withdraw money from your Emergency Fund account, it'll be immediately available in your Acorns Checking account.
Here's how to withdraw from your Emergency Fund account:
- Log in to your account from your Acorns app or acorns.com
- From your home screen, select "Emergency Fund"
- Then select the "Withdraw" button in the top right corner
- Enter the amount you'd like to withdraw
- Confirm the request
