What happens once my kid reaches the age of transfer?

When the beneficiary (i.e. your kid) of your Acorns Early account reaches the age of transfer, they can start accessing the money in the account, including matches.

The age of transfer refers to the age that the custodian (that's you!) must transfer the money in the Acorns Early custodial account to the beneficiary (the kid). The age of transfer may be anywhere from 18 to 25, depending on your state of residence. The transfer age is determined when the account is created, as required by applicable gifting to minors laws. The date can't be changed once the minor’s SSN has been added.

To gain access to the funds in the Early account, the kid will need to set up an Acorns Invest account. Once the beneficiary sets up an Acorns Invest account, have them contact Acorns Support and we can begin the transfer process.
