Automatic Round-Ups®
To automatically invest your spare change, you'll need to have the automatic Round-Ups® toggled on. Once automatic is set to on, future Round-Ups® will be invested automatically once you reach at least $5.
Manual Round-Ups®
To manually invest your spare change, you'll need to have the automatic Round-Ups® toggled off. You will also need to manually select which Round-Ups® to invest. You can learn more here.
Here's how to turn automatic Round-Ups® on or off:
From your Acorns app:
- After logging in to your account, tap "Invest"
- Tap "Round-Ups® Settings"
- Toggle "Set to automatic" on/off
- Tap "Save"
From acorns.com:
- After logging in to your account, click on "Invest"
- Click on "Round-Ups® Settings"
- Toggle "Set to automatic" on/off and confirm
Important information about your linked accounts
Round-Ups® can be a great way to invest your spare change in the background of life, but it's important to make sure you have enough money in your linked accounts to cover your investing.
If you don't keep enough money in your primary checking account, you could end up with overdraft fees from your bank.
