Two-Factor Authentication, or "2FA," is a security measure that can help keep your accounts and information secure. It adds an extra layer of security for your Acorns account. It's designed to make sure that you are the only person who can access your account, even if someone knows your password.
When you enable 2FA for your account, you first log in to your account with your regular login credentials. As the second security step, you receive a text message or email with a code. You'll need to enter the code to log in to your account.

If you enable Two-Factor Authentication for your Acorns accounts, it will only take effect if:

  1. You are logging in with your email address and password, not your PIN or Face ID

  2. The login attempt is flagged as suspicious or you are logging in from a device we don’t recognize

Here's how to enable Two-Factor Authentication on your Acorns account.
