Acorns makes it easy to invest for your future. There are a few different ways you can deposit money into your Invest account:

Round-Ups®

Recurring Investments

One-time Deposits

Round-Ups®

With Acorns Round-Ups®, we'll help you invest the spare change from your everyday purchases.

Say you buy groceries for $30.45. We'll automatically round it up to $31.00, and invest $0.55 in your future.

It's an easy way to get started with investing. Here's how it works: you link your spending accounts — the credit and debit cards you use to shop. We’ll round up your purchases on these cards to the nearest dollar as you go about your day.

We'll keep track of all that rounded-up spare change for you. Once your Round-Ups® reach at least $5, we'll transfer that amount into your Acorns Invest portfolio from your linked primary checking account.

Here's more about Round-Ups® and how they work.

Recurring Investments

Recurring Investments are a great way to automate your investing. With a Recurring Investment, you can set up an automatic daily, weekly, or monthly deposit into your Acorns Invest portfolio.

Even investing a little bit can add up over time. Try setting up $5 a day or $25 a week in recurring investments (or contributions for Later).

It's an easy way to tap into the power of dollar-cost averaging. This is a fancy investing term that just means "investing consistently, no matter what the stock market is doing."

Check out Learn in your Acorns app to learn more about dollar-cost averaging and the benefits of investing consistently.

Here's how to set up a Recurring Investment:

From your Acorns app:

  1. Log in to your Acorns account
  2. From your home screen, tap "Invest"
  3. Tap "Recurring"
  4. Enter the amount, frequency, and date settings for your Recurring Investment
  5. Tap "Save"

  2. From your home screen, click "Invest"

One-time investment

Another way to deposit money into your Acorns Invest portfolio is with a One-time investment.

This can be a great way to boost your investments, if you ever find that you have any left over money — maybe you get a bonus, or you’ve found some extras in your budget. We call this “paying yourself first!”

Here's how to make a One-time investment:

From your Acorns app:

  1. Log in to your account
  2. From your home screen, tap "Invest"
  3. Tap "Transfer in"
  4. Enter the amount you'd like to invest
  5. Double check that the bank name under the account is the bank you want the deposit to be transferred from
  6. Tap "Review" and follow the prompts to confirm your selection

From acorns.com
