Absolutely, our team plans for tax season far in advance to make the process as smooth as possible for you. We follow the deadlines set by the IRS for that tax year. You can take a look at those dates at IRS.gov.
Here’s a look at the different forms for each Acorns investment account.
Acorns Invest & Acorns Early Invest accounts
Form(s): 1099-DIV/B
When you’ll receive it: Late February
Eligibility Requirements:
- You received more than $10 in dividends in the previous year
- You withdrew from your Acorns Invest or Early account or sold some of your investments for more than $20 last year
- There were rebalances in one or more of your Acorns investing accounts

Acorns Later accounts
Form(s): 1099-R
When you’ll receive it: Early February
Eligibility Requirements:
- You made a withdrawal from your Later account last year
You can learn more about the 1099-R form here.
If you made a contribution or rollover to your Later account during the tax year, you’ll also get a 5498 form by May 31, 2024. You won’t need to use this form when you file your taxes. It’s just for your records.

Acorns Checking & Emergency Fund accounts
Form(s): 1099-INT
When you’ll receive it: Early February
Eligibility Requirements:
- You have a Mighty Oak Checking and/or Emergency Fund account
- You earned more than $10 in interest last year

Referrals & Earn rewards
Form(s): 1099-MISC
When you’ll receive it: Late January
Eligibility Requirements:
- You earned more than $600 in referral bonuses or through Acorns Earn offers

How will I get my tax forms from Acorns?
There are a few ways to gather your tax forms:
- We'll email you a link to download your tax forms when they're ready. This should be sent to the email address associated with your Acorns account. We do not send forms by mail.

You can check under Settings in your Acorns app
- Tap your avatar
- Tap “Settings”
- Scroll down to “Tax Center”

You can view them in your web app or mobile browser
- Select “Statements” from the dropdown menu
- Then “Tax Reports”
Remember, investing can have tax advantages if you know and follow the rules. At the same time, withdrawing funds from an investment account, such as Acorns Invest, Acorns Early Invest or Acorns Later, may have tax implications.
