How do I fund my Acorns Checking account?

You can currently fund your Acorns Checking account in four ways:

  1. Direct deposit
  2. Recurring deposit
  3. One-time deposit
  4. Mobile check deposit

 

 

How do I set up direct deposit to my Acorns Checking account?

To set up direct deposit, you can link with your payroll provider directly by following the steps below:

  1. Log in to your Acorns account and tap "Checking"

  2. Tap the gear icon, in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, to access your settings

  3. Select 'Link with a payroll provider' and click "Next"

  4. From here, you will enter the payroll switch experience by connecting to your employer/payroll provider to automatically set up your Direct Deposit into Acorns Checking without leaving the app!

How do I make recurring deposits to my Acorns Checking account?

To make a recurring deposit, please follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to your Acorns account and tap "Checking"
  2. Tap "Recurring Transfer" right below the 4 round buttons
  3. Enter the amount and the frequency of the deposit
  4. Tap "Turn on"

Note: During the first 60 days of having an Acorns Checking account, your one-time and recurring ACH transfers into Acorns Checking may take between 3-5 business days to process. After 60 days have passed, the processing time is normally 1-3 business days.

 

 

How do I make a one-time deposit to my Acorns Checking account?

To make a one-time deposit, please follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to your Acorns account and tap "Checking"
  2. Tap the "Transfer in" button (Mobile: right below the text of "Your available Acorns Checking balance is..." and Web: towards the top of the screen)
  3. Enter the amount of the deposit and the funding source
  4. Make sure the deposit goes to Acorns Checking
  5. Tap "Transfer"

Note: During the first 60 days of having an Acorns Checking account, your one-time and recurring ACH transfers into Acorns Checking may take between 3-5 business days to process. After 60 days have passed, the processing time is normally 1-3 business days.

 

 

How do I deposit a check to my Acorns Checking account?

To deposit a check, please follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to your Acorns account in the app and tap "Checking"
  2. Tap the "Checks" button located below your "Available balance..."
  3. Tap "Deposit check" at the bottom of the screen
  4. Then, input the dollar amount of the check and follow the prompts to deposit your check using your phone's camera

Please Note: you can only deposit checks that are made out to you.
