How do I protect my Acorns account?

Here are some ways that may help protect your account:

  1. Always log out of your account after use. In fact, we log you out of your account and ask you to re-enter your password to log in again after periods of inactivity
  2. Check your account(s) regularly so you can know if/when something is wrong
  3. Use a strong, difficult-to-guess password
  4. Set up two-factor authentication – this requires you to take an extra step to authenticate who you are
  5. Be careful where you access your account. Someone could be looking over your shoulder as you log in or a hacker may be able to gain access through public Wi-Fi connections 
  6. Never share your banking information with anyone!
