Here’s how to help protect your information with Two-factor Authentication:
-
After logging in to your account, tap or click on the menu (avatar) in the upper corner of the screen
-
Tap "Settings" or click on "Profile & Settings"
-
Tap or click on "Personal info"
-
Under Contact Info, you should notice an "unverified" alert, tap or click on the sign
-
Confirm your Contact Info is correct
-
You will then be prompted to select the 'Next' button to enter the verification process
-
Two-Factor Authentication will send a 6-digit code to your mobile device. Once you receive the code, input it into the alert in-app
-
Two-Factor Authentication verification is now complete! The alert next to your Contact Info should now be "verified"
If you do not receive the 6-digit code via text message, tap or click 'Resend.' If you don’t receive a code after 3 tries, please contact our Acorns Support team.
If you are having trouble setting up your phone number for Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) you can always set up 2FA with a verified email address as well. Please note: we only require one piece of verified contact info to set up 2FA.

Will I be sent a verification code every time I log in?
Yes, for added account security we implemented forced two-factor authentication. Your security is our top priority, so we’re always looking for ways to better protect your information.
Please note: using your PIN or Face ID in-app will not activate 2FA.
