To ensure your account’s security, we may require documentation verifying your ownership of both the current and new primary checking accounts. Please note, you MUST be listed as an owner on both accounts. If your account requires additional verification, please follow the prompts on the Acorns website or app for additional details.

You can initiate changing your primary checking account by logging in to your account and completing the following steps:

For Mobile:

  1. Tap the menu (avatar) in the upper left corner of the screen
  2. Tap 'Settings'
  3. Tap 'Linked Accounts'
  4. Tap '...' in the upper right-hand corner of the screen
  5. Tap 'Change Primary Checking' at the bottom of the screen
  6. You then have 2 options:
    1. Type the name of your bank in the search bar; OR
    2. Type "123" in the search bar and then tap 'Don't see your bank' at the bottom of the screen. You will then need to enter your Routing Number and Account Number in the fields and tap 'Link Account' at the bottom of the screen.

For Web:
