Why is the Premium Tier Price Changing to $12?

Starting July 1, 2024, the cost of Acorns Premium increased from $9/month to $12/month, and we’d love to help you understand why. This change applies to new customers who join Acorns and existing customers who have chosen to upgrade their subscription. If you are an existing Premium customer before July 1st, 2024, you will remain at $9/month.

On occasion, we’ll increase our subscription prices to reinvest back into our company to offer you even more ways to grow your oak. For example, we introduced Later Match — a new feature in Premium where we boost your retirement with a 3% IRA match on new contributions you make to Acorns Later.

These price increases also help us continue to provide you with the tools we’ve added over the past few years, like an Emergency Fund, 50% match on Earn rewards, and more. Rather than charge you individually for these features, our subscription helps us provide you a curated suite of tools that we believe will best grow your money.

If you signed up for the Mighty Oak Card and have a qualifying Direct Deposit you will still receive your subscription fee waiver. For more information on how to receive this waiver, see our FAQ.

You can find more information about our new subscription plans on our website, www.acorns.com

Existing customers in Acorns Premium or Personal Plus subscription plans can opt into the Acorns Later Match feature and receive either a 3% or 1% IRA match, respectively, on new contributions made to an Acorns Later account. New customers in these subscription tiers are automatically eligible for the Later Match feature at the applicable 3% and 1% match rate. All Later funds for both new and existing customers must be held in an Acorns Later account for at least four years to keep the earned IRA match and all or a portion of IRA Match may be subject to recapture by Acorns if the customer downgrades to a Subscription Tier with a lower monthly fee.
