Good question! You can add a Trusted Contact to each of your investment accounts (Acorns Invest, Later, or Early) so that we can reach out to them if we're unable to get ahold of you directly.
A Trusted Contact is a person, 18 years or older, who you authorize Acorns to contact in the following limited situations:
- If there is a reasonable belief that your account may be exposed to possible financial exploitation; or
- To confirm the specifics of your current contact information, health status, or the identity of a legal guardian, executor, trustee, or power of attorney
Adding a Trusted Contact doesn't grant authority to make transactions in your account, nor to act as an executor, trustee or power of attorney. You're not required to add a Trusted Contact to any account. However, keep in mind that a Trusted Contact can help prevent fraud without giving up financial control of your finances! For additional information, please see our full disclosures.
