Why does the Social Security Administration’s eCBSV service need my consent?

The Social Security Administration's eCBSV service helps us prevent fraud. It allows us to verify if a Social Security number, name, and date of birth combination matches the Social Security records.

The Social Security Administration needs your written consent with a signature to disclose the SSN verification.
