The Social Security Administration (SSA) created a tool called the electronic Consent Based Social Security Number Verification (eCBSV) Service to help stop fraud.

This service lets authorized groups, like Acorns, confirm if someone's Social Security number (SSN) and other personal information match what's in the Social Security records.

With your consent, we can use the eCBSV service, to check the name and date of birth associated with your Social Security number.

You can learn more from the SSAMore information can be found here.
