I just tried to take out cash at an out-of-network ATM but it was declined even though I had enough in my account. Why?

In order to withdraw cash from an out-of-network ATM, you need to have sufficient funds to cover both the withdrawal amount and any fees the ATM operator may charge you. If your account doesn’t have the funds to cover both the withdrawal and the fees, the transaction will be declined. It’s also possible that you may have hit the daily withdrawal limit of $500 so you’ll either need to adjust the amount you are withdrawing or wait until the following day. As an additional check, we suggest that you ensure that your Acorns debit card is not locked by checking your card settings in the app.

To avoid fees entirely when you withdraw cash, look for an Allpoint ATM by using the ATM Locator found in the Bank section of the Acorns app.
