We don't provide the option to turn off Two-factor authentication (2FA). To help protect your Acorns account, and ensure its security, it is mandatory and can’t be disabled.
If your phone number or email address has changed, we can help you update this information within the app or Acorns.com.
To update your information linked to 2FA, please follow the steps below:
- After logging in to your account, select the menu (avatar) in the corner of the screen
- Select 'Settings' or "Profile & Settings", then select "Personal Info"
- Under Contact Info, you will see your phone and email
- Select either option to begin setting up 2FA
- You will then be prompted to select the "Next" button to enter the verification process.
- 2FA will send a 6-digit code to your mobile device. Once you receive the code, input it into the alert in-app
- Two-factor authentication verification is now complete! The alert next to the contact info should now be "Verified"
