In order to release funds from the deceased customer's account, please provide the below documents:
A copy of the death certificate and any other legal documents (i.e. affidavit of domicile, estate affidavit), if available, to verify the deceased customer
Written instructions from the deceased customer's Executor/Personal Representative/Administrator on what to do with the deceased customer's Acorns account(s)
If you don’t have any legal documents other than a copy of the death certificate, we can issue a check made payable to the estate of the deceased.
Also, if possible, please include the following information to help us locate the account:
The email address associated with the account
The phone number associated with the account
